Tonight was our annual Martinmas lantern walk for the preschool. Our celebration looked alot like those from years before. (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). It was a beautiful evening, the pumpkin muffins were enjoyed, the puppet show brought the season to life and the lanterns were lit...the only thing missing was my Julen who was home with a cold. (*sniff*...it was the first time I did this without him!) He and big brother worked hard on their own lanterns over the weekend making our traditional balloon ones with tissue paper, but this time they used leaves to decorate them. Maybe these will inspire a new lantern for next year?...
...they sure looked pretty.
I truly love the tradition of Martinmas, which doesn't really begin until November 11th, but I will always cherish this time of year as the start of the giving season.
