A week ago we celebrated Martin Luther King Junior here in the United States and as there was no school that day, a local store was honoring this great leader by teaching children how to make peace doves. My boys loved it.
I asked and was granted permission to share this project here. I always have trouble photographing wool roving (anyone else?) so I left the bobbin of thread in every picture which helped my camera to focus.
This is a very sweet project that takes just several minutes to create and is easy enough that I plan to do it with my preschoolers in the spring.
When you move the bird through the air, the wings float up and down giving it the appearance that it is really flying.
