I'm on day two of Crafting for Ourselves, crafting new textiles for my home. Using that scrumptious Araucania yarn I talked about here, I made these super soft, super squishy face cloths for me and the boys. (Papa will have to wait...I ran out of yarn).
I searched and searched for just the right pattern to stitch up, using this wonderful yarn and finally found the waffle-knit dishcloth pattern here. I went a little crazy on Ravelry last month searching and bookmarking projects. While I had joined some time ago, I never realized how easy and fun it is to browse patterns. Most of you knitters already know this, but for those who don't, it is such a great search tool. You can search by filters, so type in the yarn you want to use, then what you want to make, then by free pattern download and just like that so many patterns to choose from. I'm hooked!
I finished these up last night and I loved my boys excitement when they woke up this morning to see their new cloths waiting for them on the table, they went into use immediately.
more patterns I love
I've already started on my dishtowels, but as a hand stitcher, I never know how long it will take me. We'll see if I can get them done for tomorrow's post.
