Hello August.
We are just finally settling in at home after a week long vacation with my family in Wisconsin. My boys were in cousin heaven and are missing them all terribly right now.
We really did have fun. I love spending time with my family and my boys were just soaking up all that love and attention they got all week. And they were troopers in the long car ride...well, four hours is not too long, but as the only adult in the car, it can sometimes seem like an eternity.
Before leaving home Josie sent me an incredible gift of handmade pretties she included in a purchase I had made from her shop.
I truly couldn't believe my eyes. She's a master on that sewing machine (something I am not) and has such an eye for color.
These traveling art show pockets were such a hit with my boys and I was so grateful they had them for the car ride.
With lots of time sitting around, catching up with my siblings and mom, I worked on a little knit project. With #1 needles and sock yarn, I just stitched piece after piece after piece of what is soon to be stitched into mini gnome dolls. I have no idea how many I have in there.
It should be interesting just sorting through that mess of yarn ends.
And well, no trip would be complete without visiting the local thrift store...I found some pretty linens to add to my stash.
So home once again, and no rest for the weary...I started teaching a Spanish camp at my preschool today. It's nice to have both of my bilingual boys there to help lead the group.
August always seems to bring in the heat and this year is no different. I hope everyone is staying cool.
