Today and tomorrow at the preschool, we have a sweet valentine celebration with our friends. It's all about crafting with hearts...so we use our pink watercolor paintings we made last week and turn them into beautifully decorated valentines. With the extra cuttings of paper from the hearts we made a bookmark. And of course we just HAD to have heart shaped cookies for snack time!
We've also been reading Snow Bunny's Valentine Surprise by Suzanne Down. Such a sweet story that engages the children and had them wide-eyed in wonder by the end. The story came in Suzanne's monthly newsletter from 2009! You can get on her mailing list by linking to the above address. Not only does she share her wonderful stories there, she also has lots of wool crafting ideas to accompany them.
Also...just for fun I've been teaching the song Tiddley Winkie Woo to the children during circle time. It's a song my grandmother, Evelyn taught me when I was a little girl and I still just love it! Hearing a roomful of three, four and five years olds singing it at the top of their lungs is quite adorable!
