Remember this post? The never-ending to do list. I've crossed some off, but added so much more. It overwhelms.
Two new dolls in the works. I'm trying knit ones this time. Also, I managed to paint the cubbies and racked my brain to come up with a way to secure the children's names to each box. Name plates are not easy to find, yet taping them down like we have in the past have never worked well. What I came up with are these outlet box covers I found at the hardware store, I wrote the children's names on watercolored paper and secured them with screws. These are not going anywhere!
I went back to school a week ago today. So many new little children. Starting over from scratch. This is how you sit in a chair, line up, use a scissors. Once May comes I forget how little they understood in the beginning. I'm also astonished how quickly these wee ones make friends, establish trust and respond to the rhythm of our days.
Last week, one of our girls who has now entered Kindergarten brought us the banner she and her family made for us over the summer. I just couldn't wait to hang it up on the garage. I love looking at it through the window from the kitchen.
So while we are all working hard to establish rhythm at school we are also working very hard to find our routine at home too. My first went back to school, then my baby started Kindergarten (I love that big brother wanted to walk Julen into school on his first day...you know, to "show him the ropes")
My days feel frantic, still trying to sort everything out, and oh yeah, I can't forget to mention the chaos that is our house right now. Newly refinished floors, we are still painting and there is no furniture in it's correct place...here's the "before"...I'll get to the after once we finish. We've been eating outside evey night. Hopefully, not for long.
