One of the last projects the kids did at the preschool before summer vacation was to make pinch pots. I just loved watching their small fingers slowly pinch and form their ball of clay into the sweetest of little pots. This project is a true test of patience. It took about a week for each child in each class to get a turn to make their pot. Then they had to dry out a few days. Next they painted them. Then my lovely sister (who teaches art in a near by high school) took all the tiny pots to the kiln in her classroom and fired them, then glazed them, then fired them again. It was a month from start to finish, but so worth the wait for all of them. Treasures were immediately found and placed tenderly into each little bowl.
(re-posted to add...this is my first attempt at creating a GIF and it seems to have had an expiration time on it as the image disappeared, so I'm trying it again. Any advice on making a GIF? I could sure used it.)
