One of our projects at the preschool that remains the same year after year is the harvest candle the children make. It is their gift to their family to honor and share Thanksgiving. I wrote about them once before, and not much has changed.
Most of the items we use to decorate the birch candle holder are things the children have found on their nature walks. Some of it comes from the pantry, and some are treasures that have been gathered by friends to share.
I always marvel at how the simple items can come together in such a distictive way that is special to the child who creates it. It brought them so much joy to create this special gift.
