We began last week with a 90 degree day. Two days later we had a frost advisory that sent most of us to our gardens to salvage what we could of the tender plants.
It also sent me to the closets scrambling around for cold weather clothes to appropriately dress the boys for school. Of course they have each grown about three inches over the summer so last weekend was a good time to take inventory. Also a good time to start knitting again.
I love the bright colors and squishy soft wool of the Loops & Threads yarn we used for this project, so went back to the craft store for two more skeins.
The pattern is Invictus (a free Ravelry download by Emily Ringelman). It knit up easily in a few hours after I taught myself a few new stitches...which I learned how to do from video tutorials found at YouTube. The internet is an amazing tool, isn't it?
My plan is to knit up a whole new batch of scarves so there is always a clean and dry one available to grab on these chilly days ahead. I have two more on the needles now and am still looking around for more patterns...soooo, if you have a favorite, I'd love to know about it!
