I just finished the second of six summer camps I'll be running at my preschool this summer. It was Spanish Camp at Willow House this week.
The kids had fun being rolled up in a huge blanket like a tortilla.
They loved playing rojo, rojo, verde (red, red, green) our version of duck, duck, grey duck.
And on our walks, they also loved playing corre, corre, alto (run, run, stop).
We made maracas out of toilet paper tubes.
It was fun for the kids to experiment with the various things we used to create the rattle sound inside. Rice, beans, popcorn or a mix of all each had a unique sound. I taped paper over each end of the tube after they had added their beans or rice, and then each child covered their tube in many layers of tissue paper and watered down glue. They dried nice and hard overnight and the next day they all opted to decorate with glitter glue.
They turned out quite cute. Best of all they had a blast making music with them.
