Saturday-Peanut helps to plan Julen's birthday party by creating this to do list.
Sunday-we celebrated Julen's third birthday. Peanut helped put the candles on the cake and thought it looked prettier with more than just three.
Monday-my first grader has been learning about Broadway Boogie Woogie in his art class at school.
Tuesday-I made up the last of the (Berlin's Whimsy's recipe for) homemade ginger ale from Julen's party. It is SO delicious, but doesn't go quite as well in this super cold winter as it will when it warms up. I think this will be my drink of choice this summer. (I put a wedge of crystalized ginger on the side.)
Wednesday-this sight warms my heart...I love seeing Peanut reading to Julen.
Thursday-getting my wool hearts stitched up. This is a tradition I started the first year we opened the preschool...and I plan to continue. After our Valentine's Day party, I send each child home with a small wool heart...a little bit of love in their pocket. Six finished, twelve to go.
Friday-I got busy wet-felting balls with this project in mind.
Thank you all for your warm comments and thoughts of love for my friend who had a double mastectomy earlier this week. The surgery very well and she is recovering and resting at home now. She has taught me so much about courage as she has faced her cancer and I respect and admire her strength through all of this.
Hope you have all enjoyed a beautiful weekend.
