I really can't believe it myself, but it's true. I am now dreaming about crafting. So here's what came to me in my dreams the other night. And yes, I actually made it and am posting a tutorial on the final day of the Whiplash Tutorial contest.
A no-sew apron tutorial.
Gather your supplies: old pair of jeans, scissors and ribbon.
Start cutting from just above the zipper on the front of the jeans and continue cutting around just below the belt loops.
Cut along the side seam.
Continue cutting just below the pockets. Repeat for second side until you're happy with the shape of your apron.
The original fasteners can be used to wear the apron...
...but to pretty it up a bit, slide a ribbon through the belt loops.
Embellish if you'd like. I used some felt cut outs left-over from this project.
(This step does require a little hand stitching.)
That's it. Ready for more crafting.

You rock the apron world so hard Kristin. You know I have my own Sizix hammer and accessories now? I blame you. I will just have to make myself a handy apron to wear them around the house - more like keep them on my person and out of Cyrus' chubby little hand. He likes hammers. Worryingly so.

I wonder if I have an old pair of jeans lying around?

Speaking of aprons, I just saw a really cute and ruffled apron on www.fleamarketstudio.typepad.com. Thought you might like it because of its bright colors and prints.

Came across this in my search for a no sew apron. I'm a homeschool Mom and we're doing a five in a row study on Katy, No Pocket and I wanted to find an EASY apron to make with my girls (ages 4 and 6). This is perfect because I DO NOT sew at all!!! Thank You!!

oh, my goodness, could this project come at a perfect time or what? my hubby has an old pair of jeans with the knees blown out that he gave me to craft with. i already have plans for the legs (i'm using them to make one of the nester's garlands) but now i will be extra careful with the top half and make myself this little apron... i think i will jazz it up with lots of cute rickrack and whatnot!
muchas gracias!
