Faun is hosting an embroidered patches swap. Such a great idea. I had so much fun just stitching up a few designs with no specific project in mind. I sent her these three patches. 
I used the bird carving I did a while ago and simply stamped the fabric and stitched over it. I really love how Patricia did this with her flower stamp and was inspired to give it a try. For all the patches I worked mostly in chain stitch with some straight stitch on the bird and french knots on the flower. For some really impressive french knots, check out Stephanie's softie (474 knots in all!!) and this moon embroidery...can't even imagine how long she worked on this. And as long as I had out all my supplies, I gave Amy's design a try. Thanks for the freebie Amy!

Really fantastic! You do really beautiful work! I love how you've made the wonderful bird stamp work for so many things! Don't you love the chain stitch?! It's becoming my favorite!

I love the bird, I loved it in its previous life too (the stamp). You are tempting me to try stitching. Now, to find a good book or web site that can teach me these stitches...

What a gorgeous trio of patches! I think the bird one is especially stunning; I like the different textures created by the different stitches. Great job.
