A week ago Saturday I came to the big island of Hawaii and have been completely absorbed in work all these days. I miss my Peanut something fierce, and am looking forward to my journey home which begins tomorrow night. I hope to return in time to take him out for Halloween. I've been checking email but have had little time for anything else-I look forward to a peaceful moment later this week when I get a chance to catch up with all my favorite sites. I did get an opportunity to go for a beautiful walk on the rocky beach yesterday, so share with you this photo (taken with my friend's cell phone). If you haven't been to Kona before, it is quite a remarkable sight to see what "graffiti" is here. Much of the land is covered by old lava rock...a rich deep black. It is quite common for people to use the beautiful contrasting white coral that washes in from the ocean to spell out words in an interesting form of graffiti. On my walk yesterday I saw this written on the lava...I was so touched when I saw this...you would only understand why if you are a reader of rock-paper-scissors. I can't help but wonder if Theresa has been here.
