So what did I do yesterday on three hours sleep? (Peanut is getting his two-year molars...need I say more?) While Peanut napped and my husband watched the World Cup, I went out solo and made some AMAZING purchases. First stop was a yard sale. Three dollars later, I acquired these three wonderful things. First, this amazing-fully lined-wool dress:
Of course I will NEVER wear it...it's about a size two. But if you know me, you know how excited I get about anything hand stitched...here's a detail:
All those tiny stitches!! It must have taken forever!! Another stitched score for me was this Poppie needlepoint:
Just LOVE those colors...especially how the red just POPS!! Finally, found this wonderfully vintage box of invitations-in perfect condition.
The stop at the yard sale was purely by accident (lucky me) as I was actually headed to a local craft fair. I was in a frenzy to get there before it was over and being so sleep deprived I got a bit lost. I'm THRILLED I made it!! It was a wonderful fair filled with creative artists (although it must have been 110 degrees in the building). And I'm so pleased to have made the acquaintance of this very lovely and talented woman. Eirann had the most darling set up, her table beautifully displayed all of her work and she had such a lovely banner above her table. I went home with two of her gorgeous treasures. This little bird pin caught my eye immediately:
Picking out which one of her folk bags was another story!! They are ALL lovely, and being so sleep deprived (have I mentioned that before?) I had trouble making up my mind. In the end, went home with this lovely one.
It seems like I made the right decision as Peanut is just wild about all the birds he can find. Everything is so well made, every detail is perfect. Go here to find more of her work. Thank you so much Eirann!!! It was such a pleasure to meet you!!
